01The Challenge

Lumina Inc operated a fragmented healthcare experience — patients used one portal for scheduling, another for telehealth, and a third for accessing medical records. The friction caused a 40% appointment abandonment rate, and the system wasn't HIPAA-compliant for handling sensitive health data. They needed a unified mobile-first platform that could scale across 12 states while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.

02The Approach

We built a native-quality cross-platform app with React Native, featuring an AI-powered symptom triage engine using TensorFlow that routes patients to appropriate care levels. The backend, powered by Python and Firebase, implements end-to-end encryption and HIPAA-compliant data handling. We integrated real-time video consultations via WebRTC, built a fault-tolerant appointment scheduling system, and designed an offline-capable patient records viewer for low-connectivity areas.
